I have had the privilege of receiving online publication for a travel writing essay that I wrote for my ENGL 305 Advanced Writing class titled "Forsyth Park: Heart of Savannah." This publication was recognized on Hackwriters.com, an independent, international writers magazine featuring a wide variety of genres.

The 2019 Capital One data breach, which impacted over 106 million customers in the U.S. and Canada, stands as one of the largest and most significant cyberattacks in recent history. This essay analyzes the breach's causes, how it unfolded, the consequences for the affected customers, and the broader implications for cybersecurity practices in the financial sector. It explores the technical vulnerabilities that allowed the hacker to exploit a misconfigured firewall, the response from Capital One in addressing the breach, and the legal and regulatory fallout, including the company's financial penalties. Additionally, the essay highlights the long-term effects on consumer trust and the urgent need for enhanced security measures in an increasingly digital world.

This essay examines the health crises both companies faced in 2024, focusing on how each brand responded to public health concerns (Listeria & E. coli) and the implications for their business operations. Boar’s Head, known for its premium deli meats, faced scrutiny over the quality and sourcing of its products following health-related allegations about contamination. Meanwhile, McDonald’s struggled with a series of food safety incidents, including reports of outbreaks linked to their food products, which affected consumer confidence. The analysis explores the legal, public relations, and regulatory challenges both companies encountered, as well as their efforts to address consumer concerns, maintain brand reputation, and comply with health standards.
